Freedom Harvest
With an understanding of food as a tool of liberation, Freedom Harvest is a Portland-based project that seeks to grow food resilience in justice involved communities by connecting shares of locally sourced, farm-grown produce to families and friends of incarcerated individuals, as well as folks on probation and parole.
Freedom Shares
The project will support the gathering and distributing of farm-grown, produce-based meal-kits to folks involved with Oregon's carceral system.
Farm Partnerships
We will build partnerships with local farms organized around the intention and focus on growing resilient, culturally diverse, and earth-centered food systems.
Community Cooking Nights
In partnership with local restaurants, the project will organize monthly community cooking nights intended to **gather, honor, and celebrate a diversity of food wisdom, as well as grow and share skills in food prep and preservation, recipe building, and eating for personal and environmental health and wellbeing.

Unfurl has partnered with the Insight Alliance, a Portland-based non-profit working to grow resilience with folks currently incarcerated, as well as those on probation and parole, to execute Freedom Harvest in the 2022 season.
